Privacy and legal information
We ask for little, keep little and sell nothing to anyone. The details are below.
Who we are
Maria d'Ovenal Films® is a registered trademark of D'Ovenal Films, Lda. (Portuguese tax number 519 434 188), based in Coimbra, Portugal. For anything about your data: info@dovenalfilms.pt or +351 967 362 516.
What data we collect and why
When you write to us through the form, we receive your name, the email or phone number you leave, and what you tell us. We use this only to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal. The legal basis is your own request, that is, steps taken before a possible contract.
Your message reaches us by email and stays in our inbox. If, because of a technical fault, the email is not sent, the message is kept on our server until we read it.
How long we keep it
If we don’t end up working together, we delete the conversation after two years, or sooner if you ask. If we do work together, we keep what the law requires, such as invoicing, for as long as the law requires.
Counting on this site
This site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. We only count, without knowing who you are, how often someone taps WhatsApp, the phone number or the email address, or opens a film, and from which page. We do not store your IP address in these counts.
For one hour, the form keeps a fingerprint of the sender’s address, only to stop automated mass submissions.
Third-party services
- Hosting and email: the site and our email are on a server contracted from a Portuguese hosting company.
- Films: some full-length films are shown through Vimeo, only when you choose to play them, with the setting that asks Vimeo not to track visitors.
- WhatsApp: if you tap the WhatsApp button, the conversation is governed by Meta’s terms.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data, or to stop using it. Just write to info@dovenalfilms.pt. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados) at cnpd.pt.
People in our films
Everyone who appears in the films and photographs on this site has authorised their publication. If you appear in one and want it removed, tell us and we will remove it.
Dispute resolution
In the event of a consumer dispute, you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution body: the Coimbra District Consumer Arbitration Centre (centrodearbitragemdecoimbra.com) or, outside its area, the National Consumer Arbitration Centre, CNIACC (cniacc.pt). The full list is on the Portuguese Consumer Portal, at consumidor.gov.pt. We also have an electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações), linked at the bottom of every page.
